_545 Explained
545architect was initially coined by my students. My initials are DVL, classical Roman numerals for 500_5_50. During a typical studio conversation one day they proposed if following Roman numeral rules (sometimes a lower value numeral in front of – to the left of – a higher value numeral to indicate that the lower value should be subtracted from the adjacent higher value) my initials might be 545. Writing 545 in classical Roman numerals might more technically look like DXLV, but they weren't looking to write 545, they just did the math for DVL. In any event, as an architect who collaborates in research with applied mathematicians and uses Game Theory in my research and teaching, it seemed appropriate, and it stuck.
