The clients were drawn to the quirky lines and the blend of materials and details in a corner sitting room of this small one-bedroom house. The major addition takes advantage of the privacy of this secluded lot to develop an open flowing plan around an outdoor courtyard while framing commanding views of the surrounding mature landscape. Massing and interior spaces are articulated by materials and details to complement the original small sitting room.
