A family wanted to prepare for the end of the millennium (1999) by building a remote house and barn stocked with supplies and equipment for their self-sufficiency. The house is designed to completely close down while they are gone and open up when they are there. Since the world didn't end in 1999, the family chose to re-examine their existing property for retrofit and remain vigilant.
